vuMondo connects through Google Glass, any video-capable Android or iOS device, or your computer. Visit the pyramids, deliver candy to a distant relative, visit a remote job site -- with vuMondo, anyone can enjoy the view, get hands-on across the world, or be an active mobile-video host, sharing your location and expertise with a global audience.

Easy, Safe Connections

vuMondo Events are created by vuMondo users, who can act as either Guides or Guests, depending on the event. Our secure member and event reputation system makes it easy and safe for you to connect live, anywhere, any time.

Events are initially Event Requests and can be created either by a potential guide ("Come Whale Watching Off Maui!") or potential guests ("I want to visit the Android statues in Mountain View"). Some events are free, others may involve donations paid to the Guides or Guests.

As a Guide

Every vuMondo connection has a host user that we call the Guide. vuMondo was developed to unlock the power of Google Glass™ and Hangouts™ video chat, and so while anyone with an internet-connected camera can be a guide, we recommend a mobile internet device -- especially a wearable one.

When Guides create an event announcement, they also have to option of creating an Auction for the limited number of connections available during the event.

 

As a Guest

Events always have one or more guests. A visit to a real estate Open House or your cousin's birthday party may have only one guest, while events put on by guides -- e.g., "Come to the Vatican" or "See What It's Like to Play Madison Square Garden" -- may have several guests.

When Guests create an event request, they may add a Pledge amount as a minimum offer, to ensure that potential Guides find the experience worthwhile and will compete for fast connection.

Find the Champs

Every user has a public profile, so you can see the kinds of things they're good at and how others rate them. Is this guide an expert? Does she speak Urdu? Do they show up on time? Is this potential guest secretly a critic from the New York Times? Is he a great tipper? Have they visited Stockholm before on vuMondo? How about the Ross Ice Shelf?

Places, People, and Payments

Guests and Guides may just enjoy connecting live over the internet, while some connect to provide valuable services. vuMondo provides Auctions, Pledges, Donations and Ratings to help you make the most from every Event.

After each event, Guests and Guides are asked to rate the event and to donate, if they choose, to other participants for sharing their time, expertise, and love of sharing. We use Google Wallet™ payment service, so sending money is easy across international borders. We also ask that you rate the events themselves, so that everyone can learn the most popular locations, event types, and sensible ideas for a world full of wonders in every time zone.
